Poultrygeist (2006)

Okay, I'm gonna make this short and sweet...as ludicrous as the title & theme song sound this movie is pretty much cluckin' brilliant.

Underneath all the amusing gore gags and gruesome deaths there is a spoof of the seminal Tobe Hooper classic Poltergeist. The film also does a good job of highlighting some important issues concerning fast food, capitalism, consumerism, racism & terrorism in the World as well as the work place.
I didn't mention the zombie chickens did i? or the singing and dancing Lloyd Kaufman? That's right yolks (I'll stop the puns) Poultrygeist is also a musical!

The story revolves around 2 high school sweethearts, Arbie (Jason Yachanin) & Wendy (Kate Graham). For those who don't cotton on too quickly or UK readers the names are taken from 2 American fast food giants Arby's and Wendy's. Before Wendy's due to go to college the pair decide to bump uglies in a Tromahawk Indian burial ground and promise that no matter what happens they will always stay true to each other. However a semester later, Arbie returns to what was once the location of that night only to find it's been replaced by a fast food enterprise, the American Chicken Bunker and to his surprise his beloved Wendy has been also transformed into a 'left-wing, lipstick lesbian liberal'. With the act of revenge rolling around his mind Arbie decides to get a job at the American Chicken Bunker. And that my friends is when the fun begins...

So on that note, I leave you with this,
Go watch this now, now, NOW!

This is the finest directed movie I have ever seen. It hearkens back to the styles of Jules White and John Ford.If you like horror movies, raunchy comedies or even musicals then this movies for you! One of the best Troma movies ever made and definitely the best chicken zombie musical in existence.
