42nd Street Cinema

A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010) - Exclusive London Event, 6th May.

Just over a week ago, I entered a competition with the hopes of winning a pair of tickets to attend an exclusive screening of the new A Nightmare On Elm Street remake starring Jackie Earle Haley as Krueger.

Well, the competition is now over and upon opening my inbox yesterday I was greeted with a delightful message informing me that I was one of the lucky winners. The said event is due to take place at London's Leicester Square Odeon West End Cinema. According to the email it is set to be a double bill, the other film being one of the sequels to the original 1984 Elm Street, though which one hasn't been specified yet.

When I eventually get back home I will write up my review/general thoughts of the remake, possibly accompanied by some pictures of the event. Having already heard mixed reviews and damning opinions of this picture already, I'll attempt to remain impartial towards it. I generally take one thing into account with most of these remakes/reimaginings and that would be the apparent sprucing up of older films to appeal to the newer generations. In the process they not only piss off but make a quick buck out of fans of the original, because you know you're gonna see it a some point.

So for now - stay tuned, stay sick...
